inspiration

I am a huge fan of the Flemish art. Having worked in Amsterdam for several years, I came to appreciate the great contributions of the Dutch and their predecessors, the Flemish. Heirynomous Bosch is one of the most amazing artists to have ever lived. If only he could have made films. But his restraints helped him create the most amazing visual narratives perhaps ever painted. Necessity is the mother of invention.
In his wake, Jan Van Eyck maintained that perfect humors of Bosch, and after him Vermeer, painted contrast of light shown through everyday experience years before the invention of the camera.
There are many great works left to create in this world, but for now, kudos to the great work that has come before and Adobe Photoshop, for making silly thought in ones head a reality.

announding the Kingdom of the Seahorse

Flotsam and Jetsam started out as Remanja.com in 2005. Since then it has been shifted from a combined name of the designers name, Rebekah combined with the African Sea Goddess worshipped in Brasil, named Yemanja to Flotsam and Jetsam NY. The Seahorse collection was stared then, but has just been punctuated now. Please to enjoy, Rebekah
